Eska: In with the old. And the new.

Eska is somewhat of a legend, although it has been going just for a few short years. Many places that have been in operation for a lot longer never become so succesfull though.  Eska has received a Bib Gourmand in the Michelin Guide and the chef Martin Štangl is one of the most respected culinary prodigies.

Fermented, baked, and re-discovered

This restaurant is interesting, innovative and the chefs constantly do unusual things to the foods to bring out the best flavours. They successfully try a lot of fermentation and other interesting things to their foodstuffs and do so lovingly. The chefs take traditional foods and re-imagine them in ways that are beyond good – our recommendation is the potatoes and also any fermented drink that is currently on offer.

The possibilities are endless, but the staff makes it not just interesting and creative, but very tasty, too. It is good news that their famous breads are sold in a small bakery adjacent to the restaurant, so you can buy a lof and maybe a pack of pastrami and some cheese for a quiet dinner or breakfast at home. We do recommend to try their evening menu at least once, too. See for yourselves how fantastic such ordinary things as a chicken, potatoes or a cauliflower can be when done right.
